WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 "SPECIAL ORDER"
RIFLE W/LETTER.
Description: This is a very nice Winchester Model 1873 "Special Order" rifle. It has a Special Order 28" Barrel, 1/2 octagon, caliber .32 cal., with plain trigger. Comes with the "CODY FIREARMS MUSEUM' Research sheet that verifies it's configuration. Has a very strong rifled bore, showing some pitting throught. The hammer, lever, nosecap and buttplate retain nearly all of their professionally restored case colors. The barrel, upper tang, lower tand, magazine tube and frame retain 99% of their professionally restored blue finish. The walnut stock rates very good, with a couple of tiny chips at toe and a tiny chip at the left of the upper tang. Has a repaired 1" crack below the left side of upper tang, along with a few dings and handling marks. Has a sporting rear sight and a gold blade front sight.
