Winchester 1890 First Model .22 Long Caliber
Description: Highly Desirable Winchester 1890 First Model Solid Frame in .22 Long Caliber, one of only 15500 produced. Serial number 9367. This rifle has the broken “D” marking on the barrel in the word “Manufactured”. There were approximately 1500 barrels made with the broken die. Which makes it even rarer. The “Winchester Hand Book by Madis” shows a production year of 1892. The 24 and three eights inch barrel has the correct markings the tang has correct markings as well. The bore is dull with pitting and visible rifling. The barrel has some bluing remaining, color case-hardened finish on receiver has faded to silver patina. The wood has the expected scratches and dings. The forearm and stock have visible cracks. The metal butt plate fits the wood very well. This is a good weapon to fill a hole in a collection of 1890 pumps or it is an excellent choice for restoration, having sharp inscriptions. I don’t shoot my collectable weapons. The rifle is sold as is with no warrantee. All used weapons should be checked by a gunsmith prior to firing. The weapon will be shipped to the FFL of your choice. I pay shipping and insurance fee. Payment method: GunTab or personal check or bank cashier check. Guns paid by check will be shipped after check clears our bank, approximately five to seven days. Buyer pays sales tax on purchase and all return shipping fees including insurance.
