Winchester Model 88 First Full Year Production 1956 With Clover Leaf Nice Gun Bargain Price
Description:
Nice vintage model 88 .308. In 1955 the lst yr of production 1 rifle was made. This gun was made in 1956 which makes it the lst full year of production ..These early 88's are distinquished by the clover leaf rear upper tang, which were changed shortly thereafter. This gun has been well used and well cared for, NO rust or pitting but had honest hunting compression marks on the stock and modest loss of blue from use but again NOT pitted except for the surface of the clip (magazine). Bore is excellent and there are no cracks or splits, no damage and no non factory holes. A White Line pad has been added; LOP is 13 3/4 to end of pad. These early pre 64 model 88's are classics, known for accuracy and fast follow up shots with the short throw lever. Factory drilled and tapped for scope mounting...this one comes with a Weaver type 2 piece base ready for scope (we have many fine and period correct scopes...inquire)
