Description:
Winchester 1873 .44 WCF caliber rifle. Manufactured 1902. Perfect bore. Gun has 98-99% original bright blue. Case colored hammer and lever and butt plate have 100% case colors. Stocks have some scattered handling marks. Cleaning rod is in the butt. Nitre blue parts have 100% finish. Gun is unfired. These “mint” or excellent 1873 muskets were found in crates in Argentina in the 1960’s. They are all unfired guns but do have handling marks due to shifting in the crates. Poor storage in Argentina resulted in the majority of the guns becoming pitted. Some, probably most have deep pits. This gun has escaped the bad pits, but has 4 or 5 very small pits on the edges of the frame and are minor in relationship to the overall beauty of the blue and case colors.
