Winchester Model 1873 .44-40 caliber rifle. Bore is poor (worn rifling and dark in the grooves). Action works perfectly. 24” Barrel length. Manufactured in 1892. Stocks are very good plus, no chips or cracks. This 1873 rifle has been refinished and reblued. Barrel address is visible but blurred somewhat. Lever, butt plate, and other parts are nickel plated and have aged to a dull nickel. This rifle was part of a thirteen-gun collection we bought in remote part of Kansas from the family of an old gunsmith with liked to refinish old 1873s and others. This is a real 1892 manufactured Model 1873 at a very reasonable price.
