Early style barrel address WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN, CT./KING’S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29, 1856. OCTOBER 16, 1860”. Special order Winchester Single Set Trigger mentioned in the letter. Excellent condition with 99% original blue with the balance an very handsome evenly mixed patina. Hammer with most of the original case hardening. Fine screws with nearly all the finish.Stock and forend with the original finish. Perfect working order and surprising mint, bright bore. Factory letter says it was shipped Oct. 4, 1883. Really nice early Model 1873 in the most desirable caliber. Even has the original factory cleaning rod in the butt.
