Description: ***** CABIN FEVER SPECIAL - FREE SHIPPING ***** Winchester Model 1873 First Model rifle with 24" round barrel, full magazine, plain trigger, plain walnut stocks, brass trap door butt plate (cleaning rods absent), blued and case hardened finish, open sights, original oval thumb print dust cover, correct early screw-in type mag tube end, correct half moon lever latch, interesting Cody Museum information (pictured and included) shows this started life as a carbine, sat in the warehouse for over 2 years before being changed to a round barrel rifle and shipped in 1878. CONDITION: All metal surfaces have turned a mottled patina. Stocks are sound with the only crack being a short one coming off the lower tang about 1", otherwise typical nicks/dings/gouges. Bore is very good with expected black powder fouling, no major rings/craters/pits and no bulges, should spin a bullet fine. Mag tube is tight with no wobble. Hammer locks tightly at both half cock and full cock. Solid, tight action with no lever droop. Other than the rear sight and elevator, all parts are correct and original. These First Models are extremely desirable and hard to find in untouched condition. Grades NRA Antique Good and is a solid specimen to fill that void in your Winchester collection.
