Description:
24 inch round barrel shows a good deal of the original finish turning to a deep brown. The bore is very good, fairly bright and shiny with decent rifling showing just limited light pitting. Sights include original No. 21 sporting front and No. 22 sporting rear along with an added rare Winchester 1873 No. 62B tang sight. Half length button magazine. Fore-end cap, receiver, carrier, dust cover and crescent rifle buttplate show about 70% original nickel finish with some flaking and oxidation. Fancy grained walnut forearm with matching straight grip buttstock have been freshened up with the buttstock having a tightly repaired crack on the right side coming off the lower tang. Comes with Factory Letter showing it left the factory in 1885 as a Model 1873 Rifle in 32 Caliber with a Plain trigger and a 1/2 Magazine with Nickel trim for order number 18962.
