SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 RIFLE WITH 28 INCH BARREL IN 38 WCF

Description:
28 inch octagon barrel chambered in 28 WCF caliber with a shiny bore and strong rifling. Barrel is a plum/brown patina with a special order button magazine. Original sights include a German silver blade front and typical sporting rear. Receiver is also plum/brown with traces of blue in the protected areas. Tight fitting dust cover. Hammer and lever are mostly brown. Walnut forearm has some light usage marks and retains some varnish that has worn away at the carry point. Walnut buttstock is also in good condition and retains most varnish except where it has worn away at the wrist area. There is a hairline crack on the left side of the wrist coming off the frame. Steel shotgun buttplate retains a good amount of it's original blue. Crisp functioning action. Manufactured in 1884. Extra length barrels are getting harder to find and this configuration is sure to fill a hole in someones collection.
