Note: this listing is the first serial number in .44-40 from our Turnbull Mfg. Model 1873 150th Anniversary Limited Edition. Only five examples of this caliber were made in 2023, four of which were sold. This is the final example available for sale.
Our tribute to the Model 1873’s birth features a wealth of museum-grade Turnbull touches. We apply our signature charcoal blueing to the receiver, forend cap and small parts while color case hardening the hand-engraved lever, hammer and butt plate. Speaking of hand engraving, the dust cover and forend cap receive our distinct scrollwork as well.
The 24″ barrel and magazine tube are rust blued. Screws, pins and loading gate are treated to eye-grabbing nitre blue. The receiver top tang is drilled and tapped for an optional tang-mounted rear sight. To round things out, we finish the checkered stocks in a hand-rubbed oil finish to match the classic red shading made famous by the original Winchester examples.
To present and protect this prized rifle, we’re including a hand-made case with leather and golden appointments. Wearing a smartly-embroidered Turnbull logo, the case features a quality fit with plenty of room for ammunition and accessories.
