What an incredible find. Jack Case, "The World's Greatest Cowboy" , and this is his 1873 Winchester Carbine in .44-40 Caliber. Carbine is fully engraved with Jack Case in a banner on left sideplate, and
Wild West Show on the right sideplate. Also on top rear of receiver is "101" indicating 101 Ranch Association - he worked for them and also was manager of their Wild West Show, taking it to Europe, etc. The internet is full of info on Jack Case - rodeo performer, hollywood stunt man (was a second and performed stunts for Tom Mix and others), ranch hand, Wild West Show Owner, etc. etc. Included with the carbine is a 3 ring binder full of rodeo tickets, newspaper articles, show calendars, Winchester letter showing date of shipment of the carbine, etc. Also, the original program and listing where it was sold at
some 23 years ago, etc. The Autry Museum is full on info on this famous Wild West Performer and The World's Greatest Cowboy. Carbine is in very good condition (see photos). A vanishing part of American Western Memorabilia. Should be in a museum.
