Serial No. 307522B, made in 1889, .32 W.C.F., 24” octagonal barrel. Barrel is marked “WINCHESTER’S REPEATING ARMS NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A./ -KING’S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29.1866 OCTOBER 16.1860- “, bore is mostly bright with scattered areas of light oxidation visible in the grooves, rifling remains strong. Barrel and other metal parts have turned to a brown patina with pitting noted around the muzzle and magazine tube. Forward of receiver is marked “32 W.C.F.” 3RD Model dust cover is present, tang Is marked with “Model 1873” in between decorative scroll. Brass carrier is marked “32 CAL” with initials “GH” scratched into the brass. Wood shows minimal surface nicks, ding and scratches with varnish applied at some point. Action is tight and functions correctly. (AW365)
