WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 RIFLE IN 22 SHORT CALIBER

Description:
24 inch round barrel chambered in 22 Short RF caliber with a very good shiny bore. Original sights include a German silver blade front and sporting rear. Most thinning barrel blue remains as well as the full length magazine tube. Forend cap also has most blue. The receiver also retains most all original blue. Both sideplates are refinished long ago. Good case colors on the hammer with darkened colors on the lever. Straight grain walnut stocks appear to have been re-oiled and look good with only minor handling mars. Crescent buttplate has thinning case color as well. Crisp action and very good bore should make this a fun shooter. Other than the sideplates this is a very fine rifle. There were only 19,552 Model 1873 rifles made in 22S and 22L from 1884-1904 and this one was made in 1887.
