****SOLD**** Here is a neat Winchester Model 1876 chambered in .40-60 Winchester. This Model 1876 was manufactured 138 years ago in 1884 and still functions to this day! It features a 28" octagonal barrel, smooth walnut stock, smooth walnut forend, fixed front sight w/ elevation adjustable rear sight, dust cover, and crescent buttplate. This rifle has lost almost all of its original finish but has developed a very nice-looking patina over the years and shows scattered handling marks and light dings/scratches. The original stock and forend are in great condition for their age and show light signs of handling and slight shrinkage. As seen in the photos, the forend does have a divot on the bottom side that appears to have been from something rubbing the rifle for a very long period. The stock has one 1/4" hairline crack near the top tang and it does not seem to affect the integrity of the stock in any way. The rifle still retains its original forend cap and crescent buttplate, which are in great overall condition. Both the front and rear sight are intact but the rear ladder elevation adjustment is seized. All the factory markings are still visible and the screws are in good-to-great condition. The bore is frosted with light pitting but still shows strong rifling throughout. The action still functions well for being over 130 years old and the loading gate still has plenty of spring tension. The original dust cover is still intact and functions except for it being slightly loose. If you have been looking for a functioning Model 1876 with tons of character to add to your collection this would be an excellent choice!
