Third Model 1876 Carbine with 22 inch round barrel chambered in 45-75 WCF caliber. Bright shiny bore with sharp rifling and some minor roughness. Correct carbine ladder rear and typical carbine front sight. Strong traces of dimming case color on hammer and lever. Correct saddle ring and dust cover. Barrel retains about 75-80% original blue. The receiver retains about 50% blue turning a plum color. Excellent action. Carbine style buttplate. Full length forearm is good but has a gouge on the right side. Nice looking gun that comes complete with an interesting factory letter that states this one started out as a 40-60 caliber carbine and was returned by ECMA Company and changed to 45-75 caliber in 1895. This Winchester was made in 1886.
