Winchester 1876 early third model .45/60wcf. 28
Description:
Winchester Model 1876 Sporting Rifle in the most desirable caliber .45-60wcf. factory 28 inch Round Barrel. The serial number of this example is 261XX placing date of manufacture in 1882. Very early "Third Model". Overall condition is fine with 70+% of the original factory rust blue remaining, 30% brilliant the remainder toned to a blue/plum patina. Smooth metal no rust, pitting or damage anywhere. The bore is perfect. The bore is free of any rust or pitting. The bore is bright and shiny from breech to muzzle. The bore will rate a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale, unusual to find a bore this good, probably not used much. Fire blue remaining on extractor. The Brass Follower has toned to a very nice marbled mustard patina, never cleaned or polished. Maybe 30-35% of factory blue remaining on receiver. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect with wood standing proud around the Tangs, No evidence of sanding, 90% of the original Factory varnish remains. The butt plate appears to be a left over first model, nothing went to waste at Winchester... Nice untouched 1876 in the most desirable caliber. Very nice collectible early Third Model...Please phone Tommy at (760)-912-3761 or e-mail all questions. $35.00 shipping. Insurance will be additional.
