Description: #4931 Winchester 1886 OBFMCB 38/56WXF, 29XXX range (1889), VG++/Fine bore being about a 7-8 on a scale of 10, and tight smooth action. The exterior has a smooth even thin brownish-grey patina with VG markings. It is also lightly stamped three times on the left side of the frame and once on the right side with what I assume was a former owners name, “Burris”. If found to be TOO objectionable, this could very easily be buffed out and the frame allowed to “age back”. Standard open sights and standard trigger. Wood is sound, but the forearm has slivers on both sides at the forearm cap and the buttstock has been replaced and is a bit “too good” as compared to the forearm. About VG overall and a decent early fourth year production gun well worth a little “TLC”. $2145 SOLD Antique: Yes |
