26" Octagon barrel. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best, I would give this bore a 7. Bluing on barrel and magazine tube mostly turning to brown. No dings or dents in magazine tube. All screws are clean and show very little sign of screwdriver use. Action locks up tight and solid. Nice, clean, unmolested rifle that has survived 137 years.
