This Winchester model 1890 rifle was manufactured in 1919 and is chambered in 22 short. Serial number: 621457
The condition is fair. The metal surfaces are brown in color. It looks like someone painted the metal. There is silver showing through the brown, originally, this firearm had the option to be purchased in nickel or silver. The stock has a metal pin through it. There are no cracks in the stock, so the pin was not installed as a repair. There are at least two screws missing, one in the Winchester plate behind the hammer and one on the side of the fore grip. The wood is in pretty good condition, there are scuffs and dings, but nothing more than character marks in a firearm that‚s 106 years old.
Blue Book Description: .22 S, L, LR, or WRF, cals. are non-interchangeable (don´t shoot a .22 S in a gun chambered for .22 L) and the barrel is marked for single cal. only, visible hammer, solid-frame (first 15,000) or takedown, 24 in. octagonal barrel, case hardened receiver was standard until 1901, optional metal finishes included full or partial coverage nickel, silver, and gold - all were special order, model nomenclature changed to Model 90 circa 1919 at approx. ser. no. range 640,000. Approx. 849,000 mfg. between 1890-1932.
