WINCHESTER 1892 SRC 44
Description:
Everyone wants a 92 in 44! This would be a good one for you. Serial number in the mid 500k range. Right above the serial number is another number and looking closely there is an importer mark that is very inconspicuous. Grey/brown receiver. A lot of blue on the bbl with a couple of spots of freckling. Nice action. Shiny bore with good rifling. A couple of spots of light pitting and scattered light roughness. Overall bore would be VG. Typical usage marks on the wood and some dings on the forearm. It probably was a scabbard gun. Doesn't appear to have been used all that much. Any 44 cal Winchester makes a great collectable or Cowboy Action gun.
Leroy Merz Antique Firearms specializes in antique and vintage Winchesters and other fine American firearms. Since 1965 Mr. Merz has taken part in the world of firearms and has been a contributor to many well known reference books.
