Winchester Model 1892 25-20 WCF Octagon Rifle Antique Made 1896
Description: ** Sold ** Listing and entertaining offers on this Winchester Model 1892 standard configuration rifle, caliber 25-20 WCF, having a 24" octagon barrel, full magazine, crescent butt with steel butt plate, plain trigger, plain walnut stocks, open sights, blued and case hardened finish. Serial number 113464 would have been manufactured and shipped approximately 1896 and thus qualifies as an antique. Receiver, mag tube and barrel are mostly a plum color with 50% coverage remaining, with the receiver having some nice streaks of bright blue when under the right lighting and angle (camera flash always washes out color). The hammer and lever retain 10% original case colors. Butt plate and fore end cap have silvered out. The mag tube is tight with no wobble. The action is tight and the half cock safety functions properly. The fore arm is sound with no splits or cracks and tight to all metal. The butt stock has a tight 1" hairline split coming off the right side in the wrist, otherwise is sound and tight also. Both stocks exhibit only light typical nicks and dings expected of a 100+ year old rifle that's been used. The original German silver blade front sight with set screw is present. The rear sight is a slightly later Winchester style with thumb print elevator. The bore has typical scattered light pitting from black powder use but is free of rings, craters and bulges. I'd say it's a 7 out of 10 as the rifling is consistent, with a hint of frost and will clean better. All markings are clear and the rifle has never been refinished. Overall grades NRA Antique Very Good. Will make someone a nice shooter as well as increasing in value as a collector over time. TERMS: Shipping to the Continental US States will be a flat $50 with insurance optional and additional if requested. We are registered with the CA DOJ and will ship to California! No international sales and no sales to Alaska or Hawaii. Antique so it can ship directly to you assuming your local laws allow it (sales to New York City buyers will go to an FFL only, no exceptions). 3 day non-firing inspection period; buyer pays return shipping. Payment by bank check, money order or personal check; all major credit cards are accepted with a 4% convenience fee added. Ships by UPS Ground with tracking.
