1894 SADDLE RING CARBINE IN SCARCE .25-35 CALIBER, #276XXX, MADE 1905

Description:
1894 SADDLE RING CARBINE IN SCARCE .25-35 CALIBER, #276XXX, MADE 1905. Interesting sights on this one consist of a Lyman tang sight (no extra holes underneath!), an express folding leaf rear sight (middle leaf broken, as most seem to be), and a Marble 94-C double blade front sight (this was a fairly common carbine sight). The barrel shows very evenly thin blue with a bit more blue on the mag tube. The receiver blue is deeper on the rear portion and around the saddle ring with the balance mixing gray/brown and good blue on the loading gate. The stock and forend generally excellent with very light handling only. Tight action and excellent bore. These carbines in .25-35 typically saw hard use on farms and ranches and most encountered show it. This is an attractive example.
