1902 WINCHESTER 1894 Lever Action Rifle .32-40 WCF New Haven C&R Iconic Repeater Designed by JOHN MOSES BROWNING
Description: 1902 WINCHESTER 1894 Lever Action Rifle .32-40 WCF New Haven C&R Iconic Repeater Designed by JOHN MOSES BROWNING Here we present a C&R Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Repeating Rifle, made in 1902 in New Haven, Connecticut. The credit for the design of such a prolific firearm again lies with John Moses Browning, who lent his extensive design talents to a large number of weapon types throughout his career. The Model 1894 was the first Winchester rifle made for use with the new technology of smokeless powder and was developed as a hunting rifle, though law enforcement agencies are known to have issued them as well. Over 7.5 million were produced from 1894 until 2006. While various cartridges were supported throughout the run of the gun, the .30-30 Winchester became its staple. In practical use, the Model 1894 became a favorite for general shooters and hunters alike. To this day, it remains a deer hunting favorite, and, in all likelihood, more deer have been taken with the 1894 than any other. This Model 1894 rifle features a 26-inch barrel chambered in .32-40 Winchester Center Fire. .32-40 was one of the two original chamberings for the M1894, and it has maintained a great reputation for accuracy, especially amongst those who reload. It has a tang-mounted rear peep sight, a semi-buckhorn barrel-mounted rear sight, and upgraded period front sight blade. The overall condition is very good. Original finish/patina. The action is excellent. The rear sight on the barrel is later, probably as the tang-mounted peep sight was used instead for a long time. The bore is in fine condition, bright with sharp rifling. The walnut stock is smooth and solid. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 26 inches. Caliber: .32-40 Winchester Center Fire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R Licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2200 #230865 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
