Antique Winchester Model 1894 Rifle in .32-40 First Year 4 Digit
Description:
Serial #2892, .32-40, 26" octagon barrel with a fair-good bore that has light-moderate pitting within the grooves. This is an 1894-made rifle that has an overall plum-brown patina with gray fading at the muzzle, as well as along the edges of the barrel facets. The receiver has an overall mottled brown-gray patina with some traces of blue remaining on the bolt and loading gate. The forend and buttstock have numerous minor handling marks and blemishes scattered throughout an added oil finish, and the wood has even surface wear throughout that has left texture along each of the wood grain lines. The rifle is fitted with a blade front sight, and what looks to be a replacement Winchester semi-buckhorn rear sight on the barrel. This is a nice Model 1894, made in the first year of production, and is in good-near very good overall condition. Antique
