DESIRABLE Winchester Model 1894 25-35 Octagon Takedown Rifle
Description: Here we have a very good and desirable Winchester Model 1894 rifle in caliber 25-35 WCF with 26" octagon barrel, full magazine, take down frame, crescent rifle butt, walnut stocks with a touch of extra grain, and original front and rear sights, serial # 400855, made approximately 1907. CONDITION: Barrel and mag tube show 75% bright blue starting to thin and age with some nicks and scratches. Receiver, hammer, lever, butt plate and fore end cap have silvered out with some color remaining in the protected areas and a few spots of scattered light pinprick pitting. Butt stock is missing a 1/2" x 1/4" piece upper right wrist by frame and a slight crack/loss at right toe that does not go through to the other side, otherwise sound with no other issues. Fore arm has a couple of pea-sized compression dents, otherwise in great shape. Stocks have never been cleaned, sanded or refinished and are void of any non-factory alterations or holes. Action is crips and half-cock safety is functioning properly. Strongly rifled bore with some darkness in the grooves that should clean out, rifling is sharp with a hint of frost. Take down feature functions as it should with no looseness. Retains the original semi buck horn rear sight with thump print elevator and original German silver blade front sight with set screw. Very good, honest 1894 rifle with the desirable take down feature and the scarce/highly sought 25-35 caliber to add to your Winchester collection. TERMS: No international sales.
