RARE Winchester 1894 SRC with ERROR DATE BARREL ADDRESS Cal 32 WS
Description: DESCRIPTION: Rare Winchester Model 1894 SRC with Error Date Barrel Address, 1 of only about 55 known, made 1906, serial # 339600, standard 20" round barrel with post front sight, full magazine, carbine style butt stock and plate, correct SRC ladder rear sight, saddle ring intact, and walnut stocks. In my 30 plus years of collecting, I've owned about 10 of the 55 just because I know to look for them and most collectors don't know about the factory barrel address error in which the factory mixed the patent dates of the 1892 and 1894 so that it reads August 14, 1894 instead of August 21, 1894. See pics for more details, including text from Robert Renneberg's book on the Winchester 94... CONDITION: Barrel retains about 40% original thinning blue. Mag tube retains about 65% original thinning blue. Receiver basically gray with strong blue in the area of the saddle ring. Hammer and lever show 10% original case colors. Walnut stocks show multiple dings, dents, scratches and usage marks. Butt stock has a 1.5" crack on right side below upper tang. Action is strong and crisp. Half cock safety seems to function properly. Bore is very good, still has some shine and good rifling, just a hint of frost, should be a good shooter upon inspection by a competent gunsmith.
