UNUSUAL FINE CONDITION 1894 SEMI DELUXE, PISTOL GRIP, SHOTGUN BUTT, TAKEDOWN, CAL. .25-35 OCT. RIFLE, #318XXX, MADE 1906. I called this one in to the Cody Museum and got a call-in sheet that verifies: rifle, .25/35, octagon, plain trigger, plain pistol grip stock, shotgun butt, takedown, received in the warehouse Oct. 5, 1906 and shipped Oct. 10, 1906. A scarce caliber, the .25-35 is actually more common in carbines. This special order rifle retains fine blue on the receiver sides and bolt with gray on the edges, upper tang and take down ring. Fine deep barrel blue with only light edge wear, flat top buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar intact and tall blade/bead front sight. Mag tube shows fine blue with some wear at the upper retaining band from taking down and one very small dent that is hardly worth mentioning. Excellent stock showing the lightest of handling, correct Winchester embossed grip cap and checkered steel butt plate. The forend is also excellent. Tight action, strong safety half-cock and excellent bore that is only slightly dark with strong rifling and no pitting. Cody call-in sheet included. An unusual 118 year old special order '94 in a very hard to find caliber.
