Description: Winchester. Model 1894 lever action rifle. Cal. 30-30 Win. 26” Octagon Barrel with a strong bright shinny bore. Manufactured 1898, fifth year production of this model. Special order octagon barrel with a Platinum lined three leaf express rear sight with V notch, marked 50-1 and 2 for 50 100 and 200 yards. Called a (No 34C). Has a Sporting front sight German silver blade & set screw. Called a ( 21 series). Barrel reads “Manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. New Haven Conn. USA” “Nickel Steel Barrel Especially for Smokeless Powder”. “R” stamp in front of trigger ( Winchester inspectors stamp) ? Rifle is overall 75% all original condition. Barrel retains around 85% of its original blue finish while the magazine tube a little less. Nose cap has plumbed to a nice even patina. The receiver has retained much of its original blue finish. Generous amounts of case color visible on lever and hammer. Crecent Butt Plate has faded case color and is in excellent condition as well. Walnut stocks are in fine condition, with only one bruise to be found on the left side of the butt stock. The fore arm has some very minor scuffing. Mechanically excellent.
