Description: WINCHESTER MODEL 94- WWII GULF OIL .30-30, 20" bbl 99%+ Original Factory Bluing 99% + Original Stock Finish Metal to Wood fit Excellent. UNFIRED, MINT CONDITION, IMPECCABLE BORE Stock # 06150023 Serial # 1304513 BB Made in 1942' -- this firearm utilized during WWII Comes with Cody Museum Letter After December 7, 1941, this firearm was issued to a guard at Gulf Oil Corporation's Port Arthur, Texas plant. It was one of several supplied in the invent the refinery was subject to an enemy attack. The rifles were never needed and, as with this one, most were not fired. Gulf officials decided, in the mid-1960s, that no firearms should be on the refinery property and possession transferred to members of the Gulf Corporate Security Department in Houston, TX. Special Texas Rangers served in this department and had powers of arrest as well as authority to carry firearms. The rifles were in possession of members of this Gulf Oil Corporation authorized as commissioned law enforcement officers to have and carry firearms. In the 1970's, Jack D. Bollinger took this firearm on a hunting trip. It was never fired. Bollinger checked with his division clerk and made record that the rifle was in his possession at his home. In 1984, Gulf Oil Corporation was acquired by Chevron Corporation. Chevron policy stated that security officers should never be armed and no firearms were to be allowed on corporate property. Bollinger was provided the rifle by Gulf Corporate Security as a memento of his service. The firearm was then sold in a private transaction after August 6, 2007 and remained unfired and in excellent condition. It is a true treasure. SOLD |
