Mechanically sound action with nice clean interior. 26" barrel has a very shootable bore that presents itself nicely: well-defined, unbroken lands, dark but continuous grooves. Pushing a patch down the bore we feel slight roughness, probably due to black powder and less than ideal cleaning practices. Chamber and breech remain nice, smooth and clean. Wood appears crack-free and remains solid to the action. Rear sight is in great shape; looks like the front Redfield blade might be a replacement. Serial# 4854xx made in 1909. Overall, a good, solid rifle, in a scarce caliber, and in very usable condition. Have a look at the pictures and email or call with any questions. More photos available upon request.
