Description:
Here w have a Winchester Model 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine chambered in the desirable .32-40 WCF caliber. Manufactured in 1906, this is an honest, collectible Winchester that retains its original carbine configuration and shows the kind of natural aging and patina collectors appreciate.
This carbine features the correct 20-inch round barrel, full-length magazine, original saddle ring and stud, steel carbine buttplate, and the proper Model 1894 upper tang marking. The serial number is 344395, dating production to 1906.
The metal retains a pleasing mix of original blue and smooth brown patina with no evidence of buffing or refinishing. The walnut stocks appear original and are solid, showing only the expected handling marks, dents, and light scratches accumulated over more than a century of honest use. The wood-to-metal fit remains very good.
Mechanically, the rifle functions as it should. Most importantly, the bore is exceptionally strong, with sharp rifling and a bright appearance, making this a fine collector's piece that is also well suited for the shooter who appreciates vintage Winchester lever actions.
