Winchester Model 1894 32-40 Short Rifle
Description: I recently purchased this, then lost my job, unemployment is no fun!! Have to sell it, gotta have cash!! This is a Winchester Model 1894 32-40 rifle that will letter as a factory short rifle. The Cody Museum records list the following: rifle, 32-40, round barrel 22" long, plain trigger, Lyman front sight, 2/3 magazine, shotgun butt, rubber buttplate, received in warehouse November 7, 1905 and shipped from warehouse January 12, 1906 to order # 29350B. This gun still retains the Lyman front sight and has correct rear sight. All markings are correct. Stocks are in great shape, no extra holes, never sanded or refinished. Correct hard rubber buttplate with Winchester logo, fits well, measures the traditional/early full 5 inches top to bottom and length of pull is 13 1/8". Action is tight and crisp. Half-cock safety seems to function properly. Bore is very good, especially for a 32-40 black powder, very good rifling, minor pitting, a 7.5 of 10 and should clean to at least an 8. Correct 2/3 mag tube has correct rounded end cap with lip that fits into slot on underside of barrel. Barrel and mag 75% blue turning plum. Not much left on receiver as you can see. Just a nice collectible gun and in an odd caliber for a 2/3 mag short rifle as the majority of these out there are 30WCF. Only about 2200 of the first 354000 model 1894s had 22 inch barrels, 515 had 2/3 magazine, 40000 were caliber 32-40, and only 1 of every 20 had a shotgun butt. Feel free to contact me via email or phone with questions or an offer; I also have a few more pics I can send upon request. No international sales and no sales to California. Must ship to FFL or C&R holder. Payment via USPS money order, bank check or PayPal. Priced to move!!!
