Winchester Model 94 .30 W.C.F. "Flat Band" Carbine

Description:
This is a post WW II, early production Flat Band Winchester Model 94 Lever Action Carbine in .30 Winchester Center Fire (.30-.30).   Featuring a 20" round barrel, full length magazine with slotted end cap, old style knurled hammer and Type 2 receiver frame, ramped front sight with hood intact, adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight, with a flat, checkered steel butt plate. The serial number is 1395075.  Manufactured in 1946, the carbine locks tightly and is 100% functional.  The bore is bright, clean and free of rust or corrosion, with well defined rifling.  The receiver retains the original bluing, with typical minor wear showing in front of the loading gate, on the sharp edges of the receiver, on a couple of screw heads, and on the left side of the hammer.  The walnut stock has the original finish and is in good condition, showing normal wear, with a couple of dents and a small crack, which is barely visible, on the left side of the fore end, all of which are pictured.  Unlike most Model 94s, the trigger pull is buttery smooth, breaking precisely at 2 1/2 pounds with no creep.  This resulting from trigger work performed in 1991 by Master Gunsmith Dale A. Storey of Casper, WY, long known for his Winchester expertise. 

According to research by the Winchester Arms Collectors Association Historian Bret Hartman, an estimated total of 139,000 Flat Band Carbines were manufactured during the 30 months of Flat Band production, which started in 1946 & ended in 1948.  89,082 of those rifles were  chambered in .30 WCF.
