VERY FINE WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 RIFLE IN 30-03 CALIBER
Description:
24 inch tapered round barrel chambered in 30 U.S. MOD 1903 caliber with a bright shiny excellent bore. Sights include Sheard blade front with a Lyman No. 6 folding duel leaf rear and a Lyman No. 21 receiver sight. Barrel retains most all of it's original blue finish. Receiver also retains most all of the original bright blue with very little edge wear. The box magazine also has most blue with just some light operational wear. Nice sharp clear markings. The bolt has all of it's bright blue. Hammer has good traces of case colors. Very crisp functioning action. Walnut schnabel forearm with ebony insert are in very nice condition with most varnish remaining. Buttstock shows some nice grain and is in very good condition with most varnish as well. Rifle style buttplate still has good traces of case colors present. This is the kind of example Winchester that anyone would be proud to have in their collection. Factory letter confirms 1908 production date.
