28 inch round barrel chambered in 30-40 Krag caliber that shows about 70% finish remaining with scattered very light freckling and handling marks. Bore is fairly bright with strong rifling showing lightly frosted surfaces. German silver blade front and half buckhorn sporting rear sights. Receiver shows about 40% finish with signs of light cleaning and a few scattered freckles. Good traces of case color remain on the hammer. Walnut stocks are solid showing light wear and handling marks equipped with a crescent butt plate. Approximately 5,000 First Model 1895 Flat Side rifles were made. This one is serial number 308 and was made in 1896.
