Description:
This Model 1903 is in exceptional condition for being 106 years old. This rifle shoots the WINCHESTER 22 CAL. AUTOMATIC ammunition only, and will not accept any other 22 ammo. The S/N (96055) dates this little rifle to 1918. I had it professionally cleaned, (not restored) to the shape you see it now. The stocks were undamaged, so cleaned and oil finished to a baby butt smooth sheen. The metal was cleaned, (but not polished), leaving all the script, S/Ns, and proof marks crystal clear. There are 5 tiny prick marks (pic. 6) on the left receiver panel, that are barely worth mentioning, but I don't want to misrepresent anything. The barrel holds 95+% original blue, with the receiver thinning to a nice patina. The bore of the 20" barrel is in excellent condition, with the original sight package, and the proper flush cut muzzle. The model 1903 was the predecessor to the model 63, which cycles the more popular 22LR ammo. The 1903 was built from 1903-1933. The model 63 was built from 1933-1958. This is an excellent example of one of TC Johnson's many patented firearms. This is a take-down rifle that takes down and reassembles as it should. Ammo is available online at a fair price. $950.00 by PMO, or other forms of Certified Funds. Ships free from my FFL to your FFL through UPS and tracked. Ships to the lower 48 states only.
