Description:
24 inch round barrel showing standard Winchester Nickel Steel barrel markings with “.30 W.C.F.” marked on left side of chamber. Pinned blade in post front sight with brass bead, a filler blank in the rear dovetail and a replacement Lyman receiver sight. Bolt is numbered to match the rifle. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock with Schnabel tipped fore end fit with sling eyes and a ribbed steel buttplate. Very good condition overall with clean smooth metal surfaces showing about 80% finish. Excellent bore is bright shiny with decent rifling. Stock is solid with a few handling marks scattered here along with a plugged on top of comb and a piece grafted in around the replacement receiver sight. Manufactured in 1930. Comes with book “Winchester Model 54 Bolt Action Rifle 1925-1936” by David P. Bichrest where this gun is listed by serial number on page 130.
