Pre War Winchester Model 54 30-06. Early model Scarce!
Description:
These have gotten super scarce in unaltered condition. Here is a very nice Winchester Model 54 standard rifle in 30-06 caliber. 24" Barrel. Undrilled rear receiver bridge! Bolt handle and safety remain original, along with the correct swivel studs. S/N 30***A with matching bolt Mfg. in 1930. Overall condition is remarkable considering it's 87 years, retaining about 90-95% condition overall showing only scattered shallow use marks throughout wood. Mechanics and bore are practically new. This rifle is 100% original with the only minor exeption being that the stationary leaf on the factory Lyman 66W sight appears to have been removed, utilizing only the remaining folding leaf.
With only about 50,000 of these made in all configurations, there are very few Model 54 survivors out there. Nearly all have been refinished, had recoil pads installed, or have been altered for scope use with various drill holes, every imaginable abomination of bolt handles (which also ruined the underlying wood), and aftermarket safties to name a few. Unaltered examples such as this one are a tremendous value to the collector.
