The gentleman that I obtained it from had shoulder surgery done between seasons and unfortunately could no longer hunt with this weapon. I shot it and the kick felt no worse to me than a .308. It is an awesome firearm ideal for big game. It fires the .300WSM cartridge and I guess with Winchesters experience they engineered it to keep that kick to a minimum. Guess that pad on the back helps too! .This is easily a 650.00 gun. The wholesale price for this rifle is 630.00. This is also a controlled feed gun or as some know a slide under extractor.
