New in Box! WINCHESTER Model 70 XTR Featherweight made in 1982 chambered in 7mm Mauser. In the late 1970s, I had a burning desire to own a pre-64 model 70 in 7mm Mauser. Every one that I found was way more money than I could afford. The 7mm Mauser is the 5th rarest caliber in the pre-64 model 70, and is therefore quite rare. A few years later, I ordered a new Winchester model 70 XTR Featherweight in 7mm Mauser for the Gun Department of our store. When it came in, I noticed that it had a nice walnut stock with a touch of fiddleback. Although it was not exactly what I wanted, I thought that it would do until the fates smiled upon me and led me to the original that I could afford. One thing that attracted me to this one was, although it had no sights, the receiver was drilled and tapped for a receiver sight. I happened to have a Lyman 57 receiver sight so I got Ray Bentley, a talented gunsmith of Cedar City, Utah to install a front sight. Now I had something very close to what I wanted. 
Not long after, a ruger M-77 in 7 Mauser was traded in and I bought it cheap and have shot it a lot. To this day, the Winchester remains unfired. It has the original box and papers with sling swivels. It is an original Winchester, not a U.S.R.A. rifle. It is a time capsule that has been buried in a vault for 43 years. It is all set up to shoot with the Lyman click adjustable receiver sight, and is, of course, drilled and tapped for scope mounting.It is in perfect condition, no rust or corrosion of any kind. This would be a great one to shoot and hunt with, or to simply put away and watch it appreciate in value. Please check out the photos and contact me with questions.

PAYMENT - I can accept money orders, cashier’s checks, bank checks, or personal checks (pending verification of funds).  Payments via USPS & UPS are acceptable.
My FFL dealer (Dixie Gun & Fish) securely packs and ships each firearm, following all firearms laws, and will include a signed copy of their FFL with each firearm shipped. No private sales on firearms!

SAFETY WARNING- Buyer is solely responsible for determining that a used gun is safe to shoot. The firearms offered may or may not have been test fired, and some have been only visually inspected. It is a requirement that every used firearm is inspected by a qualified gunsmith before firing. The buyer agrees to hold seller harmless against damages, injury, or death caused by defective merchandise.

RETURN POLICY- All firearms come with a 3-day non firing, no-tinkering with (turning screws, taking apart, removing parts, scoping. firing, cleaning or altering in any way) inspection/return privilege. Inspection is based on a visual review of the firearm to confirm that it is in the condition stated. In the case of a return, the buyer pays all shipping charges both ways. Please ask questions.
Return Policy Guidelines of GunsInternational  Unless the buyer and seller agree to modify, as may be the case in a new gun, layaway, international sales and for used guns and accessories it must be clearly marked in the listing as No Return, the return policy is three (3) calendar days from the day the item(s) are received by the buyer or delivered to the FFL acting for the buyer.   The item may be returned for any reason, but the buyer must notify the seller within the three (3) calendar day inspection period.  The buyer must start the return within the next four (4) calendar days to receive a complete refund, less all shipping, transaction fees and FFL charges.  On a return the buyer must not remove the firearm from the FFL premises without approval of the seller.  Once the firearm has been received by the seller and inspected a prompt refund will be issued.  Shipping must start within one week of receipt of the item(s).  The return shipping must be of equal shipping level, including insurance i.e... Priority, Express, Blue Label etc.  The return item MUST be in the same condition as when shipped to the buyer.  This is an inspection period only, a gun is not to be fired or disassembled.  Sellers written permission is required to allow the buyer to take down a takedown model during the inspection period. Upon the receipt and inspection of the returned gun, the seller agrees to issue a prompt refund. Recommendation: Confirm purchase with all details via the Contact Seller form within the listing and print out the listing for your records. Industry standard is that if a buyer fails to perform on a layaway that any monies deposited are forfeited.  GunsInternational recommends all layaways are agreed in writing. Any modification of the 3 day return policy must be in writing by both buyer and seller.
