Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 .375 H&H magnum. Nice!
Description: ***SALE PENDING*** Very clean and tough to find 375 H&H Magnum in a most desirable configuration. S/N 227173 with matching scribed bolt made in 1952. Representing less than 2.5 % of all Pre 64 Model 70 production, these clean and unaltered 375s are quite scarce. Most of the guys who bought them hunted hard with them, and they show it! Other than the highly coveted early Pre Wars, this particular rifle is in the most difficult to locate configuration with its low comb stock, solid bolt knob, and 2 leaf Lyman 6W rear sight. It has a genuine factory installed recoil pad as issued on all 375s, still in excellent and supple condition. It remains in great condition overall with beautiful original blue showing close to 98%. The wood is also very nice, retaining virtually all of its original lacquer finish, with only scattered light marks, and a shallow crease from a previously mounted Lyman 48 WJS receiver sight. The 25" barrel has a perfect bore and all mechanical functions are flawless as well. As an Alaskan guide who's carried an identical rifle for nearly 40 years, I can positively attest to its unsurpassed capabilities. Most of my associates with any real experience agree. The 375 H&H is also the preferred caliber of most African game cullers. This fine rifle is among the best you'll see, and at a manageable price! Please add $100 for expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
