Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 375 H&H. Scarce, UNDRILLED transition era!

Excellent and hard to find Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 375 H&H magnum with the very scarce smooth topped, yet undrilled rear receiver bridge. These particular H&H Magnums (both 300 and 375) were only produced for about a 5 year period beginning immediately after WWII until late 1950, when Winchester then began drilling the rear bridge similarly (but with closer spacing) to all of the other calibers. There are very few of these left that have not been drilled for modern scope bases by their subsequent owners. This is a 1949 gun, and is also one of the latest to retain the Pre War style clover leaf tang. S/N 121389.
The overall condition is excellent, showing 97% original finishes throughout with only scattered light scuffs or handling marks. The recoil pad is the correct factory installation as on all 375s, and it remains soft and unmarred.
The 25" barrel has an excellent bore, and all mechanical functions are smooth and proper.
A thin layer of glass bedding has been added to the barrel channel for accuracy and stability. The fit is perfect for easy dissasembly, and it is not at all visible through a normal external inspection.
This is a really fine and solid rifle in what is arguably the greatest all around big game hunting caliber ever conceived, and the parent case to practically every other useful magnum cartridge in existence.
