Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 Super Grade FEATHERWEIGHT 30-06 Extremely rare!
Description: *SOLD* Beautiful and EXTREMELY rare Model 70 Super Grade Featherweight in .30-'06 caliber. This is THE rarest style of any Model 70 ever created. They were produced in just 4 calibers with only 321 of the 30-06 in existence! S/N 414*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1957. Beautiful external condition showing close to 98% Blue and Varnish. My internal inspection revealed all correct and unique stampings, but I also discovered some epoxy in the action area (glass bedding) none of which is visible anywhere externally and the barrel fits tight in its channel with no apparent routing. Even the fragile aluminum components of floorplate and trigger guard look virtually new. The aluminum buttplate is also nice but has a few dings on its edges. All of the usual Super Grade characteristics along with other unique features of this very special style are present and correct, including proper Redfield front sight and swivels. A very difficult one to add to any collection and in beautiful shape other than the hidden epoxy, but it needed to be disclosed.
