Here we have a rifle that surely has some stories to tell. This 1956 vintage model 70 has been rebarreled with a Featherweight barrel and topped with a Weaver K8, the optics of which are still surprisingly clear, although the eye relief does leave something to be desired. An accessory rail for a sling swivel and a hand stop has been inletted into the stock. Mechanically, the gun seems to be in good order, and should still make for a fine shooter. Overall, a still very shootable example of the rifleman's rifle, and one that likely has many more seasons in the field left in it. .243 Winchester
