Winchester 70 220 Swift


Description:
This model 70 Winchester 220 Swift was manufactured in 1957.  Overall condition is approximately 90%.  The controlled round action cycles smoothly, with no flaws noted.   The barrel is 26" long.  Bore condition is very good, no corrosion, and has sharp rifling with no throat erosion that would indicate high round count.  The rear sight is the original single leaf folding adjustable type manufactured by marbles.  The front sight is a sheard type marbles 103.  The front sight hood is a correct replacement.  There is slight blueing wear at the sharp corners of the action, with typical loss of blueing on the bolt knob, trigger guard, and magazine floor plate and butt plate from use. 
The walnut stock is sound, with no cracks, and has the original sling swivels.  There are quite a few scratches and dents in the wood, most notedly on the left side action area.  The 20 lpi hand cut checkering is in very good condition, with some wear at typical handeling and carrying areas.  Finish has been added to the original finish, with three overspray points.  The stock does not appear to have been completely refinished but was sanded in two small areas on both sides near the butt plate before finish was added.  Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii would be additional.
