Winchester M70 (1946)
Cal .270 w/Sreel Buttplate)*
Description: This Winchester M70 Cal .270 was one of the first production runs after WWII. It is in very good overal condition w/the factory scope screws still intact. The guns metal is abt 97% w/no rubs or scratches. The receiver is the proper matte black w/a matching number smooth fitting bolt, a slightly used magazine plate, a very clean chamber and smooth action. There is some very light bottomplate edge wear and the trigger housing and guard have some light use as well. The buttstock is w/o any cracks and has some light handling marks in the very rear by the comb and ahead of the trigger hsg. There is a nice semi.gloss reddish finish overal. I would rate the stock as being 85-90% overal. The buttplate is a nice horned steel ( Indictiative of the earlier M70's). The bore has a nice shiney and distinct twist. I would rate this Winchetser M70 as a Very Good to Exccellent (Gun Metal) and an Very good both collectible and ragegun or hunting piece. This firearm would rate an NRA Very Good tome.
