Description:
The Winchester Model 71 in .348 Winchester with a 24" barrel is often cited as the ultimate refinement of the big-bore lever-action rifle. Introduced in 1935 as a modern, strengthened evolution of the John Browning-designed Model 1886, it was created specifically to chamber the proprietary .348 Winchester cartridge. Lever-action with a simplified, strengthened mechanism milled from "Winchester Proof Steel". It features a smooth-cycling design with dual locking lugs. The stock on this gun has been replaced/refinished in the deluxe style for this rifle. The deluxe model stock should have a pistol grip cap which this does not. The red winchester pad is a reproduction pad that has been added. The 71's had a checkerd steel butt plate from the factory unless special ordered with red rubber pad which is rare. The stock work was done very professionally as the fit and finish are very nice. This would make someone looking for a Winchester 71 to shoot or hunt with a great option at a great price. .348 Winchester
