Winchester Model 94 .32 Winchester Special Post-64 Good Condition
Description: This is one of the most widely used rifles in history. The Winchester 94 can be considered “The Deer Hunting rifle”, as it, has arguably been used to take more deer than any other rifle in history. Originally produced as the first commercial smokeless powder rifle, the Model 1894 (often shortened to ’94 or 94) can be considered one of the most important rifles in American history. This rifle is a post-64 and is in good condition considering its age. There are a couple of scratches on the barrel and the mag tube. The receiver as a few spots of finish loss, but overall, the rifle retains most of its finish. The wood furniture exhibits some small scratches, dings, and places were the finish has begun to flake. There is a slim gap between the back end of the forearm and the front of the receiver. The forearm is not loose however. Mechanically, the rifle functions like it did the day it left the factory. Operating the lever system is very easy and quite smooth. The bore is in excellent shape with no rust or pitting. The serial number dates the rifle to 1966 which makes it 54 years old. The .32 Winchester Special was designed for hunters who wanted the option of reloading their own ammunition with black powder and cast bullets. A slower twist was used than that for the .30-30 to reduce fowling retention. The larger bullet was also thought to increase the power over the parent cartridge. While ultimately not as successful as the .30-30 the .32 Winchester Special is a good cartridge in its own right and has a dedicated following. It can be used for the same range of game as the .30-30. Hornady even loads .32 Winchester Special ammo with their Lever Evolution bullets, giving the .32 a boost in range compared to when using round-nose bullets. For those looking for a high-quality deer rifle, the Model 94 is a first-rate choice. This is not based on specifications or looks, but on a hundred years and more of deer hunting history.
