Winchester 1873 OBFMCB, 24”x44WCF
Description: #4822 Winchester 1873 OBFMCB, 24”x44WCF, serial range 293XXX (manufactured in 1887) and having about a 7 to 7-1/2 bore on a scale of 10 and looks like it should clean up even better and be a pretty decent shooter; VG action. The barrel looks to be one weight heavier than a standard weight barrel (often called a “medium-heavy”) and the exterior has a thin smooth plum-brownish patina with no mentionable pitting except for some minor pitting on the left sideplate where it likely got rust-stuck to a cloth gun case. Other than that it has VG markings, standard open sights, and VG wood with just the usual light bumps and bruises of a 133 year long life. Nothing fancy here, just a decent example of a Model ’73 in the most popular caliber that just saw medium use and no abuse ....aside of not being cleaned often enough and thus having some scattered pitting, powder residue, and lead build-up in the bore. About VG as described. $2395 SOLD Antique: Yes |
