Winchester 1886 OBFMCB 38/56WXF, 29XXX range (1889), VG++/Fine bore
Description:
#4917
Winchester 1886 OBFMCB 38/56WXF, 29XXX range (1889), VG++/Fine bore being about a 7-8 on a scale of 10, and tight smooth action. The exterior has a smooth even thin brownish-grey patina with VG markings. It is also lightly stamped three or four times on the left side of the frame with what I assume was a former owners name, “Burris”. Standard sights and standard trigger.
Wood is sound, but the forearm has slivers on both sides of the cap and the buttstock is just pretty rough all over …and while the stock could be made better, it will never again be “VG wood” and should be replaced. Metal is VG+, wood is “about Fair to Good” $1895
